The WOWbeing team is passionate about making a lasting difference for Hawke’s Bay youth and their families. Our mission is to foster a sense of belonging, boost self-esteem, and promote wellbeing in young people, particularly through the powerful influences of culture, faith, and family.
With over 20 years of combined experience in health, fitness, and education, our WOWbeing mentors use their expertise in physical activity to connect with and engage Māori and Pasifika student leaders and their Aiga/Whānau. This mentoring journey begins with year 8 students, ages 12-13, and continues throughout secondary school and beyond, supporting them as young adults up to age 24.
Through sports, performing arts, recreational activities, and innovative learning, we build confidence and inspire young leaders. At the heart of WOWbeing is the belief that by guiding young people to reach their full potential, we are empowering a new generation of role models who will create positive change in our community.
